More problems at the station, allegedly whilst performing a three point turn in the station car park entrance, (clearly stated in the drivers contract as being not allowed) a taxi collided with a cyclist who just happened to be the head honco of National Express, station taxis top brass were summoned to the scene and the cyclist is demanding that heads roll, all this and drivers caught on tarrif 2 during the day, it looks like a troubled christmas as station taxis. |

not only does the day driver get banned from the Station, the night driver also gets banned because of the day driver offence |

I have no problem with the thief getting banned. But so what if one driver did knock down the cyclist? Does anyone care? IMO one less to worry about. |

Does anyone care? IMO one less to worry about. In York the cyclist is king they do not need lights go the wrong way down one way streets take the p**s and no one cares, yet my missus was pulled over and breatylised the other night because she had a rear light out as she is a non drinker it came up negative. |

they told taxi drivers they was only doing there job after a complaint, must have been the hotel manager have they heard of bylaw 9a, York taxi drivers can ply for hire on any street Well the trade needs to make an official complaint. But will they?

9a states: The driver of a hackney carriage shall, when plying for hire in any street and not actually hired:- proceed with reasonable speed to one of the stands appointed by the Council (excepting between the hours of 7pm and 7am when the driver may ply for hire free from such requirement) The rank in question closes at 10pm, nothing to stop drivers driving down the street and picking up anybody waiting but they cannot park and rank up and wait for customers. This came from senior licensing officer when spoken to. Bit of a grey area? |

Just tell the plod to go and read the section before they make a fool of themselves Reading it, it quite clearly states you can rank anywhere between 7 PM and 7 AM Write to the chief constable pointing this out, or for quickness go to the station and ask to see the inspector |

Nothing grey at all, if the rank is no-longer a rank after 10.00pm then it's an ordinary road. And your rule allows you to rank after 10.00pm in any ordinary road. |

Noticed today as I walked past, that there are double yellow lines all down this stretch of road. Signs clearly state that taxis can park only between 7am and 10pm.and no waiting at all other times. So maybe plod was doing the right thing after all and tickets will be issued next time. |
