Maybe this will give the necessary boost of enthusiasm to “rout the touts”

They will not do it to get convictions maybe they will do it for the CASH

An interesting development, but wouldn't it have been nice if the taxi trade and their reps were consulted on this development. :?

My house will be when I get the roof done.

It's like a combined advert for Absolut, Ikea and Saab.

So what will the fine be???????
Most of these on the spot fines are around £80 reduced to £30 if paid within 14 days

I detect an air of missunderstanding regarding the inclusion of penalty dissorder notices regarding certain crimes of dissorder. Nothing at all has changed in section 167 of the act therefore no consultation was needed. The secretary of state has the power by statutory instrument to include or exclude offences covered by Penalty dissoder notices.

The inclusion of the notice means that in addition to the statutory offence of touting or making off without payment anyone caught breaching these laws could be dealt with by a penalty notice, The penalty is not recorded as a criminal conviction but it is recorded for the purpose of criminal records. If the accused declines a pdn then the statutory offence takes its course.

There is no decriminalisation as such except for what I have previously stated.

Considering touting and making off are infrequently prosecuted crimes then the move is probably a step in the right direction.

If you think about it logically the advantages are many but considering I'm having a bad health day I'll let you discover for yourself just what those massive advantages are, rather than me spelling them out for you.
