I understand that Hackney Carriages are legally able to undertake Private Hire work, outside of their licensed district. If operating as such, and the Hackneys individually get work through their own phones, is there a statutory requirement for them to keep a log of work, in the way a licensed booking office for PHV's have to keep records for their work? If the answer is yes, who would be empowered to examine the same? TIA for help |

The licensing officer or their minions can examine the records. Ours came round last year to check all the bookings records and no smoking signs etc. |

Myth Busted then I think we go back to the 'a hackney carriage is always a hackney carriage no matter where they are' point. And that includes when they are doing pre-booked work. |

Isn't there a requirement for HC to keep a record of each journey? |
