what are your badge renewal costs though, if the LA wants to do it FOC then thats fine, but if they want you to pay, thats different

ive also got DVLA form D795 "Driving entitlement" to complete and return...

I would say less than 5% insist on every year.

DfT best practise says every three years.

But hopefully we will all be on the ISA list in future.

Then it's once and never again.

having seen and compared my POLICE records with my CRB checks, and given that the police check was £10, took two weeks and was exactly (word for word) the same as the CRB check (£36 and 3 months), why cant councils do what some prospective employers do, i.e. send you to get your police records....

(especially given that the CRB does not include motoring offences....)

Some regulatory bodies may still require that a CRB disclosure is carried out.

why do they make you have a crb every year, which goes against best practice?

I would ask them for the reason why they make it one year, also ask them why they dont follow best practice, I cant find any council that does one year crb, which is your LO
