In June's copy of PHM the editor, Mr Roland, suggests compiling a list of un-licensed operators.

A league table of bad guys to complement his fare table league.

http://www.phtm.co.uk/media/1119973895.pdf second page in.

So if anyone has any tales to tell, then the contact details are on the link.

Do not knock Mr. Roland, I have been a fully licensed P.H and H.C driver for 13 years and during this time Have encountered many instances of un-licencesd morons taking money from the public.Even my second ex wife has the number of a 70 year old who is operating an un licenced mini bus in the Wrekenton area of Gateshead. In the seventies the same character was in a murder case. but there is obviouslly nothing to worry about 8) 8)

I'm not sure anyone has knocked Mr Roland on this topic.

If anything it's a pat on the back and an encouragement to drivers to assist him with his iffy list.

Or have I missed something? :?

I wasn't knocking the editor, far from it, I was mearly giving the contact details for anyone who has info on unlicensed operators

It's about time the suits who drive suits were brought under control (eg executive hire companies)

All the best

Post subject:  Unlicensed taxi service ?

A local hotel offers a "Courtesy Taxi Service from the Airport"

http://www.glynhill.com/location.htm

Should this require a licence ?

I am not sure how many passengers it takes but they use a Peugeot eurobus & I cannot see a PSV or private hire licence

Down here it would need an ops license, and both vehicle and driver would also need to have one. Up there it's another matter. :?

I suppose it depends on how many seats it has. If it's more than 8 seats and doesn't have a PSV, then it's more than likely illegal.

But it's a nightmare issue, and if I was you would send any info you have to the editor of PHM.

was talking about this last night on the ranks.
one of the four big firms down here uses unlicensed 8 seaters on school work and airport transfers.
Sussex you will love this.
The firm is owned by an ex local T&G secretary.
And is managed by the current one.
