Post subject:  'Special Event Vehicle' licensing one step closer

Renfrewshire Council's Regulatory Functions Board will tomorrow discuss the next stage of the installation of a licensing regime for limousines & other special vehicles

Local authorities in the Strathclyde Police area have been forced to act by the forces increasingly pro-active licensing department. They are responsable for reporting to the Procurator Fiscal the operator of the infamous Renfrewshire based 'crazy fire company' http://www.crazyfirecompany.com/index.html for operating without a private hire vehicle licence

Strathclyde Police have agreed to withhold taking any more enforcement action until such time as local authorities have appropiate licensing schemes in place
