It looks like BAA have given up with the bowler hats at Terminal 5.
My insider says that BAA want a dress code (proper one) and a fair fare for their customers. So that 0 out of 2 for the hats.

If you had taken the time to research your subjects before posting, you will have found out the LTDA and other trade bodies, along with H.A.L.T have already began talks on the above price list for ALL the terminals at Heathrow. So I guess its back to the drawing board for getting a minicab desk in the terminal.
Perhaps you should join Checker Cars? I think thats the closest you will ever get to being an Airport Cab.

My sources GBC say that Radio Taxis have bought the LPH firm that has a booking office in Terminal 2. So maybe T5 is going to be shared by the united Radio Taxis firm. All ranked up together.

Its news to me that a LPH desk exists in T2, as far as i'm aware there's the Taxi desk and some of the airlines have their 'car transfer' desks at their counters. |

From outside the M25 it seems to me the more LPH firms the HC firms buy, the more work is draining off them and given to the LPH boys. Might be wrong, but don't think I am.

Might be wrong, but don't think I am. ![]() . . . from inside the M25, I see a Minicab industry with a serious staff retention problem, some apparantley finding it more lucrative to tout of the streets, opposed to working for a company with its associated costs and overheads. I also see Taxi groups advertising every week almost pleading with you to join their circuits, as more and more drivers turn their backs on this uncomfartable relationship with the Minicab industry. Now this to me is all very bemusing, its a kick in the teeth for the fatcat shareholders of these groups, which were origonaly set up as a drivers co-operative, and as the Mini-cab industry struggles to get enough drivers, more and more people are coming out onto the streets and hailing me, choosing to simply claim the money back by way of a receipt. |

So it sounds like all the drivers are winning - both PH and taxi - while the circuits - both PH and taxi - are not having it so good. I'm sure that's what TDO forecasted when PH licensing was going through. |

As the chap above says, if the LPH firms are competing for drivers then it makes even more sense for drivers to get licensed. And if you are getting more flag work, then surely that's a good thing. So if legit LPH drivers are being sort after by the firms, and legit black cabbies are being sort after by punters, then let's all have a party, because for the first time ever on TDO's history we can all agree that things are getting better, and no drivers (other than the scum) are losing out.

Quite, the LPH lads are over the moon that there is a short fall in drivers. And as we are gaining work from the other side, it's a good time for us.

Likewise we are also over the moon that there is (and always will be) a shortfall in the ranks of the 'in between jobs' trade. I certainly hope your gaining some work Ollie, maybe one day you will earn as much as me.
. . . . but I'll bet your working week will still be more than mine!
