I see some of those offences are for having your plate tied on with string, hell they want to come up here, string,wire etc etc Also why is it different when the Council issues you with tempory plate whilst you wait for new one to arrive, they say put it in the back window, do not drill it or fix it to the outside of your vehicle.??? |

It would appear Birmingham are casting their net far and wide as Operators are also being targeted. Failing to keep appropriate records being one of the many offences. OPERATORS Aftab Khan Pleaded guilty at Birmingham Magistrates Court on 16th September 2005 to 4 offences of operating an unlicensed vehicle and driver and failing to keep appropriate records as required by conditions of the operators's licence. The defendant was the manager of Blue Arrow Cars. ................................................... Julian David Howell Pleaded guilty at Birmingham Magistrates Court on 21st October 2005 to 12 offences of operating unlicensed vehicles and drivers and failing to keep appropriate records as required by conditions of the operator's licence. The defendant was the operator of St Pauls Cars, Unit 37, 65 Caroline Street, Hockley. Fined £1,550 (£100 x 5 & £150 x 7) Prosecution Costs £270 LOCAL GOVERNMENT (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACT 1976 ........................................................ I would assume they weren't keeping certain records because those certain records would have been evidence of illegal activity.

i am surprised that none of them tried to use an interpreter, seriously though note how many of them got done for illegal pickups, i thought with Brum being deregulated eons ago this sort of carry on should not have happened. |

They say it is not politically correct to do so...what about politically correct that drivers are unlicensed and do not have CRB checks, vehicles unchecked and do not conform to pre-licencing requirements. we'll see what happens but i'm not going to hold my breath! dap |
