Is this another back door taxi licence charge some LA's are thinking to bring in, I have heard this through the grapevine from one or two drivers from different areas, and or could this spread country wide, you know they all meet up once a year to discuss things taxi wise at conferences.

They want/or are thinking about seperate extra charge to do the meter test
how can they, the people who test them are paid via salary to do this, I am [edited by admin] fuming at the thought, robbing [edited by admin] [edited by admin]

is is possible to ask the Council taxi dept. that I want last years and year before accounts to see where and what is going on with the money paid in as licencing fees, itemised and will they send it to me

Write to the council's Freedom of Information Officer asking him for the breakdown.

well ive just paid £325 for my 12 month test and an extra £12 for my meter, the docket i took to the test station (council owned) said test fee £55 so the 6 month check is another £55 so that means £215 admin charges.

Then in view of the time they'll spend compiling the figures it'd become a self-fulfilling prophecy, kind of thing
