I suspect some people may have noticed that the Taxi Trade is becoming increasingly alarmed at the high level of Murders and assaults on hackney carriage and Private hire drivers. It is therefore no coincidence that the reporting of such incidents has received a high profile on TDO and elsewhere.

I would like everyone to let me know where possible those authorities that do allow CCTV in their vehicles and those that do not? The ones that don't will be named and shamed along with those councillors who sit on licensing committees and for reasons unknown to us all think it is reasonable to gamble with the security of Taxi drivers. If you know that the council you submit provides financial assistance for installation, then that information would also be welcome.

I am starting off with one council that doesn't allow CCTV in vehicles.

City of Lincoln Council allow CCTV. No financial assistance.
