The situation at York Station is permit only to pick up on the rank, the permit is issued to the licence holder, threfore is you sell the plate (licence) the fee has to be paid again as it is re issued to a new licence holder, they say the fee goes to GNER I have my doubts, anyone new applying for a permit is only given one on condition that they go on the radio circuit and pay £55 a week rent. surely this cannot be legal as it is tantamount to blackmail.

Also when you are given your receipt for the permit which includes V.A.T the receipt is on a slip of paper with no details on surely if they are charging V.A.T it should have their number and address on, and if the person is claiming the V.A.T back it shoud show their name and address also.

It isnt a VAT recipt without a bonafide VAT number on it. A quick call to customs and excise VAT dep't should put the cat among the pidgeon's!

they can say it includes VAT as can any retailer. however if they are VAT registered then they ought to have a VAT number on the receipt.

Contract law,

Any grievenece is with the contractor and in this case the contractor is Station Taxis. They set the contract terms, which both you and they have to abide. You don't have any other legal right in regard to plying for hire on Railway Property.

JD

I was rather getting used to David, I wonder what's going to take your fancy when Graham wears off? Perhaps Charlie or Jack or maybe John? lol

Regards

Mike.

What you mean JD isn't David Spencer anymore?

Still at least Mr T is putting his time to something apart from the defence of the quota.

I mean it wouldn't do to answer the thread's question by Mr Thinker. :-$

Instead he barks up yet another wrong tree.

Bit sad really, drivers getting killed and assulted and all he is worried about is a name. [-(

Now then Bill, I don't know why you are making such a fuss over a name, you know I answered the Thinkers post when I agreed with Graham's post , and this thread has nothing at all to do with drivers being killed,
