I think to comply with the law you must have a sticker at the rear and be registered, but imo it can only help against crime on you anyway. Why not have it on your rear view mirror, mine picks up everyone in the cab and out of the rear window, i can also turn it to face any direction in case of trouble.

If you have a monitor and a camera that doen't record what is sees, then that's a totally different situation. If you are not recording the law does not apply IMO

if its only looking in the rear view mirror then your ltd to what you can see whats happening outside of the car.

i've even thought of hiding one in my headrests that are built into the front seats with a microphone which will watch and listen to whats going on in the rear of the car.

was also thinking of fitting a car alarm type of thing that would act as a extremely loud warning device fitted in the rear of the car which i could set off if they [edited by admin] me off or did something which i wasnt happy with.

they'd soon stop what they were doing with that in their ears :D

Now your talking covert cctv which is another ball game, if you have ordinary cctv and it's pointed out by stickers so punters can see it then your halfway there because it's a huge deterrent to them.
I used to have a false camera and that worked fine as well because punters didnt know it was false and they behaved.

I do

Bryan, i didnt mean looking AT the rear view mirror, mine's mounted under it facing backwards. It picks up everything in the car and out of the rear window, but i can turn it to point anywhere in case of trouble at the side windows etc.
