Newcastle has allowed its first cab to have the cctv system. The system is paid for by its advertising slots for £20 per week.Does that mean that any taxi/private hire can advertise on the passenger screens in the cabs/cars?Also i wonder if this is the same system that was mentioned on this site a few weeks ago.

Providing you get permission from your council, then why not?

Are you saying that it's a hackney cab that's got it?

I know that many LAs have different rules for advertising on HCs as compared to PHs, so your LA may be the same.

Yes it is a TX Hackney cab that has got the system installed, but i do not know if the same law has been passed to the Hackney carraige saloon cars or Private hire cars. What i am trying to say is would this system in a Hackney cab show any adverts from any willing sponsor and who would be the administrator :?: I.e could a rival firm advertise on another firms screen in the cab :?
