| Post subject: | Licence Fees |
Hi, Quick question................ Is there any legislation covering the fees that may be charged by a Local Authority in relation to Operators/vehicle/drivers licences. Are we entitled to the accounts that cover the licensng department so we can see where and how our fees have been spent. Ta Guy |

Under the 1976 Act; section 53 (2) drivers licenses section 70 HC Proprietors licenses, PH Vehicle licenses and PH Operators licenses A request under the FOI should result in your licensing departments accounts. The cost of a license must reflect the cost of the licensing regime The Manchester 'King' case is worth a read, if not for the fact that JB got his butt kicked (again). CC |

Captain Cab Indeed it is, I was going over to Stockport as well, they have a Mori Poll as defence no survey. If you tell me who you are I will give Paul Brent your regards, he has been asking me to look at the Trafford Centre, Manchester Airport and various other bits and pieces. Since the rise in Hackney Licences in Trafford rumoured now to be approaching 145, from 103, the Local Authority have NOT provided any ranks, they have just increased opur fees across the board and yet we only have one licesing enforcement officer. I have now convinced Paul Brent that the trade has nothing to fear from the threat of full de-restriction and should attack the Council policies across the board, there are instances of cabs from out of the area picking up in Traffod and actually sitting on Trafford ranks seen by licensing officers and they did nothing There is also something about Trafford plated Hackney vehicles working for a Manchester company in Manchester and Trafford doesnt want to do anything about it claiming it is a problem for Manchester Council Guy |

I spoke to Paul last night.....he did say he'd been talking to you, it would be quite ironic if you joined that association
But if it gives the LA a kick up the butt, thats fine by me
If you tell Paul you were speaking with a pain in the ar$e from Carlisle, he'll be very aware. CC |
