Anyone know the rules on child minders taking kids to school/nursery using their own vehicles? |

to be a child minder is a long drawn out process, and you have to be registered, plus do a course and pass, and you come under the Local Authority http://www.childmindingnorthants.org.uk/pages/8.htm |

I think that a registered child minder is allowed to carry the children in their own vehicle either to school, playschool or trips out as if the child were their own. They are being paid a fee for looking after the child. I doubt that they are charging any extra for taking the kids to school but if they are then there may well be a licensing issue. |

Interesting. 
I suppose as they are being paid to do whatever, and whatever includes taking the kids to school, then a case could be made that from 01/01/08 they should be licensed.
