Hi there,

I want to become an owner driver (ph) in Trafford. I have all the forms ready to fill out and I was wondering wether my questions could be answered....

1. I would like to own my own car and rent the radio from a firm. The idea is to work when I please eg 30 hrs one week, 60 hrs the next, etc etc
Do radio operators frown on this practice or do they not care as long as you pay the rent?

2. Can any Trafford PH driver can advise me of the costs of starting up? Eg Plates, Insurance, Radio rent etc

Many thanks

No two offices are the same, but I suspect most wouldn't bat an eyelid at your proposal.

But the bigger offices are probably more inclined to work this way.

Didn't the council give you the fees with the forms?

Insurance - probably around a grand minimum, two or three times this dependent on driving record, motor etc - shop around.

Radio rent probably a ton a week give or take a score.

As long as you pay your weekly, rent from my experience you can work every hour god sends, or none at all.
