have heard from some York HC drivers one York PH firm is positioning a vehicle and driver near to a taxi rank and busy night scene area in the early hours

the PH driver sits, people come across to the PH car for a lift home, tells them he's booked, but i can get you a car, the driver blows the job into the firms office, then along comes a another driver to take the job, this is not a one off as he's supplying constant work to other drivers, mobile booking centre maybe.

can this be legal?

No, it's touting.

That said they must be a pretty poor outfit if their circuit has spare cars at that time of night. :?

Tellytubbies which is a new firm in town have a girl carding all the people in hackney queues, so a few drivers all rang in duffs on Saturday night, we then contacted them and said we would double the number next week and so on until they stoped
