In this article Click here the council are saying it's the high standard of service that are making taxis and their drivers flood to Berwick.

Is there anyone in the real world that believes that for more than a nano second? :?

I think when the LO says standard of service he is referring to the administration of the license and the costs associated in obtaining it. I suspect there isn't a license cabby in the UK who wouldn't mind paying 40 or 50 quid or whatever it is for a proprietors license?
