Six local authorities in Northumberland are to merge and create one giant authority. Two authorities are restricted and four are unrestricted so something has to give in respect of hackney carriage licensing? The Secretary of state won't sanction any new Taxi licensing zones therefore my money is on the two restricted councils becoming unrestricted unless the legal departments concerned come up with something original? Regards JD |

Newcastle is not one of the six Skippy. The Northumbrian councils are as follows. Alnwick District Council | Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council | Blyth Valley Borough Council | Castle Morpeth Borough Council | Derwentside District Council | Tynedale District Council | Wansbeck District Council | Regards JD |
