Post subject:  Rent a Car Company offering to collect Customers

I saw a Rent a Car advert by Enterprise last night on TV where they offered to collect their customers from their home when they had booked a rental car.

The visuals appeared to show one of their own staff collecting the customers, taking them to the Enterprise Office, then handing over the rent a car to the Customers.

Does anyone think that this activity should be performed by a Licensed phv/hackney driver in an appropriately Licensed vehicle, rather than the enterprise operative in an Enterprise car.

Or am I just being a pedantic ****?

I think it's 100% illegal, but I'm not so sure the DfT agree.

We go back to the scenario mentioned a few weeks ago i.e. would that firm offer that service to anybody walking down the road. If not then they are gaining from that service.

In short, hire and reward.
