pre-gps days, we had a "long trip" book, to ensure fairness (ha!)
eventually the next long trip fell due to "him"....not the sharpest tool in the shed, but a nice lad, always willing.
so from (i wont say exactly where but its between hinckley and tamworth) he was going to skegness...
another guy wrote the route out on an A4 sheet of paper...
"how do i get back" he asked...
"turn the sheet upside down" the base comic replied
whilst delivering a take-away meal he radioed the base "i cant find number 23, ive found 22 and 24"
base replies "try across the road then......"
