a question i have been asked today is the use of a service road as a through route legal or not im struggling to find the answer but to be fair the guy who has posed the question is a dork anyway it all started with him picking up a fare if he had gone the shortest route ie through the service road it would have been much cheaper than the route he did take but he went through a no entry sign to go the long way but unfortunately the fare was a taxi drivers daughter who promptly grassed him up to her dad. how we laughed when he realised he had been caught at last :D

If you mean a 'service road' to be a private road then anyone can use it with the permission of the owner/landlord.

But instead of a written permission usually it's ok unless there is a sign saying no public access.
