What is the cable called which connects to the car battery and the taxi meter / computer ??

And what type of areal do I ask for ??

Operator said I need to get the wire and areal before they can connect the computer in the car

This is for private hire

It might be a Can Bus or something like that.

Cost me about £100 4 years ago, thankfully used it on my new one as well.

The Canbus is part of the vehicles fittings, it controls voltages to different items on the vehicle, a taximeter needs a pulse from a sender (old school) or from the cars ECU, it may need a different cable because of a Canbus

For my meter to work I needed a can-bus to convert info from the ECU to the meter.

At a cost of £100.

Ok, the operator said it will cost me around 45 quid for both areal and cable, he recommended a place to me but I forgot it, I will find out what cable it is from him on Wednesday and update.

Skodas work of the can bus system, the fitter removed the speedo and connected a double spade connector, put the dash back after running a length of cable to where the meter was going

They used to stop working when the rust got to them.
