Must admit ours has been pretty much stable, the only problem is when O2 or the internet goes into one.

Ours it still like a sack of crap, Excel still refuse to get off their arses and do something. We've been promised the much awaited Mercury 2 booking and dispatch software for over 6 months now but still we have nothing.

After the debacle on Friday night drivers were up in arms and threatening to throw their keys in because of the mess the system was causing.

Send it back and get another firm in, there's a way out of the agreement under the sale of goods act. Believe me it's sack of crap and needs to be avoided.

Sounds to me like someone’s been messing with your system settings if it’s been working for several months then suddenly throws a wobbler that can’t just be corrected? Or is it just the not enough cars working the system for it to function as it was designed to work?

Bill :)

Don't know Bill, basically the system is on it's arse, on our PDA's it's showing jobs in one plot then giving you an job in another plot, when you question the operator about the job in plot A but it gave you a job in plot C they keep saying there's no job in plot A but the PDA is showing a job in plot A???

Saturday night for example I was given a job which meant travelling a good distance, when I got to the job 2 other cars were dropping round the corner, now why didn't the system look and give the job to one of the other 2 cars that were dropping round the corner instead of pulling me from one end of town ot the other??

The time has come for me to look elsewhere because this system is costing me and many other drivers money.

It's highly unlikely that a virus would affect the workings on such a system. In most cases, it's either someone’s inadvertently messed up the settings or is attempting to use autodispatch at a quiet time when manual dispatching might be more appropriate. Either way, it's impossible to make any judgement without more detailed information.

We sometimes get calls asking us to explain why a certain car got a specific job. It's a real chore having to backtrack through the activity logs to work it all out but in virtually every instance it turns out that the computer was right all along and they just hadn't considered some aspect of how they had their system configured.

I've given it up as a bad job tonight, I've been pulled from pillow to post, from one end of the town to the other. I turned off at 9pm and came home.

It's a F****N joke Cap, they came in last month to do an update, when they'd finished they'd cocked up the screen where the controller can see where all the cars are, this has remained blank ever since. They are a crock of [edited by admin] mate. To say they are under a mile down the road their customer service is 100% [edited by admin].

I was talking to the owner the other day about it, I asked him if he was going to take it out and send it back? He said he can't because they got him on a contract for 2 years, I said send it back under the sale of goods act, the system has never been any good from day 1, all the drivers are doing more miles for less money it seems like we've gone back in time in respect of earnings.

Another sh!tty weekend thanks to Excel, PDA's dropping like a hookers underwear, cars crossing each other going for jobs. Keep phoning Excel but they seem to be doing nothing to correct the problems.
