Hi guys

I personally would be wary of anyone who is suggesting you take payments from customers by credit card and then put those payments through someone elses account before it goes into yours.

You can set up your own system for taking payments by card where those payments go straigt into your own account, however verification of the card user and getting that payment is now a lot more difficult as there is no way of transacting such a payment instantly in car, therefore one has to do this over the phone and since the introduction of pin numbers earlier this year if you do not have a pin number and something goes wrong it is you who looses the money.

Someone needs to invent an in car credit card machine that has the ability to take the money and the pin number instantly.

Some Eurpoean countries already do this, but as usual the UK is way behind with this type of technology.

Take care

Eric

I estimate that about two or three people a year ask me if I take credit cards, and when I say no, they pay by cash. :-$

the company i work with puts jobs through to me and they have all the credit cards details and when i have finished the job and checked the card i tell them the amount and they do the rest but the problem i have is it then takes wks for them 2 pay me and thought that this way might speed up me getting my cash after doing a years worth of Sussex,s credit card work in 2 hours yesterday

i have seen a few black cabs with the swipe machines in them but i would think in time we will all have one of these machines and another thing is that up here most of the pubs let you pay for your drink with switch a lot of bar staff tell me that a lot of them are students spending on daddys gold card

 about 30% at moment of turn over will increase as chq are phased out
helpful when everyone else has stripped the cash machine

i have one of the old fashion paper swipe things. the number of times i've used it in the last 2 years of having it is a big fat zero.

i usually find that the punter would rather go to a cash point. suits me too.
