Depends on what your looking for. Have a look in the back of Private Hire Monthly. You will see some software for drivers accounts etc.

You could also look at using Quick books. You can buy that from PC World.

Hi, I just use Microsoft Excel set it up right it's as good as anything you can buy, you need to set all the cells to add and minus your colums, go to PC world and get Excel for dummies, it's £4.99 and it shows you how easy it is.

Don't forget to 'BACK UP'. Or you could loose the lot.
I use two little books. One for credit and the other for debit.
My accountant says he likes it this way. Better than reams of A4.

a quick search on google will give you lots of free templates to download.

or if you dont have Excel use open office, like excel but free!

you can open up excel templates with it as save them as your own.

(but be warned excel wont open OO templates)

Unless you're a sole trader then spreadsheets aren't really much use. If you keep proper double entry books then you'll need a proper accounting package to deal with a accounts and the like - if you could set up spreadsheets to deal with that kind of thing then a career change should probably be in order :lol:

But spreadsheets are fine if you don't have lots of customer accounts and the like, or if these are dealt with by the office you work for.

You might like to try eBay for accounting spreadsheets. If you enter the word bookkeeping in the search engine it should bring up a few.
CabSuite 2 has a free offer on at the moment and another one is at a reduced price of 5.99.

Don't forget that if you are VAT registered, than the software you use must be approved by Customs and Excise. Excell isn't, because the entries are not necessarily contemperaneous.

For a single owner driver it may not be a problem, but if you are a company, I think the industry standard lately is Sage Line 50/100.

Interesting to ask the question if any of the taxi software systems with integral accounts are VAT approved. Most seem to want you to export them to Sage to make them legal.
