Post subject:  double shifted cab claim?

i was talking to an ex HC driver last night who used to pay £280 a week to jocky a black cab in our city (included insurance!). he then went on to double shift the car at weekends with another driver.

i asked him how they would both stand if one or the other of them had a no fault accident. the person driving would be OK probably also OK with a " loss of earnings " claim. put surely the one not driving at the time can not claim as well? the ex driver didnt know...

I think the other driver could claim, after all he has had a loss through no fault of his own.

He would however have to try and mitigate that loss by trying to find another car to drive in the meantime, but if he suffers a loss, then he is entitled to claim.
