just got the above vehicle(unfortunatly)just wonderin wot i shud be gettin mpg wise? seem to be getting about 75 miles round town for 12 quid,does that seem about right?also getting bothered with warning lights all the time,theres loads around here on the taxis so must be decent bit not impressed so ar after avin focuses for the last ew years :sad:

google "spiritmonitor" and search that for your car but 35-40 urban seems about right with 50 on a run

warning lights - get em read, or buy a reader from argos

You have my sympathy mate buying a Vectra. I've suffered with mine and was glad to get rid of it after only 10 months on the road as a Taxi. They aren't built for Taxi driving.

If you have just bought it take it back and get a refund
Then buy a Skoda Octavia 1.9 tdi loads of nearly new on the auto trader site

get the duratorq with camchain rather than the belt

not an option ,just spent 300 quid getting it plated eusasmiles.zip like i said earlier tho,there seems to be loads on th ph circuit with vectras,surely their must be some plus points :?:

if you got it off a dealer it should have had at least 3 month warranty get them to sort all the problems out

Oh I have just thought of a use for the car they make good plat pot holders

ANY car can let you down, lets face it its all in the lap of the gods, how you treat them, how well theyve been looked after, have they been thrashed, and so on, all counts

I've been running mine, plated, for more than 3 years now.

Sensible driving and regular servicing helps. Every car will develop faults of one kind or another. Live with it, get it fixed and get on with the job.

Confidence in the car is such that daughter and son-in-law are buying it when I'm fit enough to go to look for a replacement.

75 miles £12 (16p/mile)

i filled up today

580 miles £80 3.7p/mile)

but mine wasnt town stops/starts


£80 quid......sob.....

You have my deepest sympathies, this engine is known to eat dual mass flywheels, worse if its an estate. Biggest pile of poo I ever owned. A real money pit.
