Are you having problems with your E7 taxi ? I would like to know about it. Have you had problems with your clutch/ dual mass flywheel ? This normaly starts as a judder between 12000 and 15000 miles and ends up as a complete failure needing a new clutch and flywheel that they dont mind changing the first time, but the second time they try to tell you its wear and tear at a cost of £1800. This is an ongoing problem that Peugeot need to sort out. Every taxi driver i know on the Wirral who has a new E7 has this problem. Now i can live with the fact that the anti roll bar bushes collapse at 4000 miles with a replacement costing £140 for the bar and bushes with fitting extra. And the fact that the ball joints last about 20000 miles then need new wishbones costing over £100 a go. I can even put up with the LED for hire lights wiping out my taxi pmr radio because there is no work on the set anyway. But i am not going to payout £1800 for a new clutch and dual mass flywheel every 15000 miles. Peugeot Dont want to know, dont care, stone walled etc. And Cab Direct have had our money not their problem. So i am compiling a list of taxi driver and van drivers who are having problems. Please get in touch giving me your name, problem and contact details etc. Together we can fight this and win. email chris@cqtv.co.uk |

every 15000 miles. Why not take them to the small claims court?

I have just got off the phone "again" with Cab Direct due to an ongoing problem with my electric steps. Which even after being replaced with completely new ones in August are still giving me problems. As for the clutch problem I have had a judder on my clutch since 30,000 miles which peugeot say is wear and tear and won`t replace. I have had my LED lights replaced after they stopped working. I am also on my second set of front discs as the last ones warped. Maybe I should get some banners made up and go to the Cab Direct demo day at Queens Wharf in Liverpool next wednesday 9th december. |

Or.....because its an E7,Its in the garage with nae engine for 6 weeks when you get it back you dont own it and now are a Parking Attendant. |

I would make sure that you find a mechanic that you like and get on well with ... for one thing is certain you will certainly be spending a great deal of time with him over the next few years.... in the end it is a converted van... that was designed to transport goods from A to B... not to be continuously stopping and starting and the side doors where certainly not designed to be continuously opened and shut.... it is a rich man's converted taxi, you need to be extremely rich to pay for the repairs.... I am sure you will adapt or exchange..

i got 1 nearly 2 years ago... 60 days off road because of problems too many to mention. n e way clutch and flywheel very interesting. my garage denied there was a problem at first with the judder.after 45k they decided to change flywheel F.O.C. however clutch costs me around £212 Fitted free. becos wear and tear on the clutch, meant that the clutch was not covered by warranty. However I know a person who has a 57 plate eurobus from cab direct on ph which had covered around 60k which got his fly wheel and clutch replaced F.O.C. ??? I emailed puegeot and guess what.....! yup no reply...! so I emailed again and guess what.... no reply. I am changing it in march now for a primastar. I would strongly recommend that you do not buy a E7. Puegeot have very bad customer relations and it seems it wears off in the appointed garages. |

The problem lies when the vehicle has been converted, Peugeot make them as vans and guarantee them as vans. Cab Direct convert them into Taxis but are they guaranteed as Taxis? Now IMO if they were going to be made for transporting 7 people then there should be a bigger engine fitted instead of a 2 litre which IMO is not big enough to do the job. You don't go out and buy a Ford Transit with a 2litre engine do you?? It's doing the same job only carrying 1 person more. |

Get all the warranty details in writing and ask questions. A colleague of mine has just lost a lot of time on a Nissan Primastar through clutch/gearbox problems. I'll try to find out precisely what his problems were, but the usual liabilty under the warranty argument was raised. |

I have had two E7s the first one being written off. On both vehicles the engine is/was very good but the rest of the vehicle is cheap French plastic Sh!t. The main problem lays with legislation that allows these "Del boy" companies to take your/mine money whilst advertising worthless/meaningless warranties that are not worth the paper that they are written on. CABS DIRECT are liars and fraudsters and yes I can back it up! Do I have the endless pot of money like them to go to court! No I do not. Peugeot are not much better as they pass the buck back to Cabs Direct, and Cabs Direct do exactly the same, Would I buy another car/cab from these shiesters..............Never in a million years, you can catch me once but you will never get the chance to do it again. |

If your transporting 4 passengers I'd go for an engine above a 2.0TD anything above that I'd go for a 2.5TD. |
