An operator in Dundee with a 59 Reg Premier, has discovered a large split in the rear section of the floor. After contacting the Dealer (Cab Direct) he was informed that it was not covered by warranty and was quoted £2.500 by them to rectify the problem ! Is this the end for these vehicles ? after modfications to the rear floor, it seems the floor is now seriously weakened ! they have also re-routed the brake lines in order to accomodate the conversion.
At least 7 operators have complained of rear brake failure in the past ! :shock:

Are these vehicles a danger to the public ??

Time for a full refund, through the courts if necessary
I would take pictures and send them to VOSA and get them to deal with it as well

Conversions aren't the safest vehicles on the road by a long shot.

For his floor to split and for Cab Direct to charge him £2000+ to fix something that's occured due to their poor workmanship is nothing short of a disgrace.

Surely the blame lies with the Dealer ? the vehicle is not fit for the purpose it was built ! Nobody deserves a hit on the pocket like that ! :shock:

I wonder if Ian Mccandless of Dundee Council is feeling a bit worried :?:

He's gotta be ! he's the man who tested it and Wallace is the one who licensed it.....the question is ?? was is re-evaluated after the brake pipe scenario ?

I'd get in touch with Watchdog at the BBC, after all it's public service vehicle carrying fare paying passengers around, I'm sure there's plenty of drivers out there who's got some beef with Cab Direct over faulty conversions.

i have one and to be honest 3 weeks old and its starting to go wrong cant wiat till someone runs in to the arse of it just to prove there not fit for the purpose my first point of sueing will be the council then so called allied vehicles ltd who no doubt will dissappear but saying that il get the councill who passed them 8)

contact VOSA and request an inspection ASAP then get a good lawyer, if it puts you off the road claim loss of earnings
