Do any of you drive the TW200 taxi?

What do you think of it?

This is the taxi based on the Fiat Scudo.

It would be good if someone could review it on here.

I am not thinking of buying one, I drive a TXII - I am just wondering if anyone has actually even seen one, because I have travelled all over the country and never seen any.

I think its going to be the same story as the CMAK European - I seen one of them, and then the company folded.

Only seen one in the PH rag yesterday, never seen one on the road.

Did any of you buy a CMAK before they went to the wall? Have you had any trouble with Allied Vehicles taking over the warranty?

I always had an idea it was going to be a bit of a joke.

I think your incorrect and understand that Patons took over CMAK

End of the Road for CMAK Ltd - 25/01/2005
Coventry-based CMAK Ltd - maker of the European Taxi - has gone into liquidation, leaving numerous suppliers chasing unpaid bills.

Given the company's poor sales, relatively few drivers will be affected by the news. Nonetheless the failure of the company will be a worry for any drivers who do own a European.

On a brighter note, leading taxi supplier Cab Direct have stepped in to help European drivers affected by the liquidation of CMAK Ltd, by offering ongoing service and support for their vehicle.

"As the UK's first Peugeot authorised service, parts and warranty specialist dealer we are well placed to offer expert assistance to any Peugeot owner," said Cab Direct Managing Director, Gavin Gillies.

"We also carry more than £500,000 worth of stock in our busy parts department," added Gillies. "Even Peugeot dealers around the country regularly draw on our specialist taxi parts stock.

"With seven-day service and parts back-up, including nationwide next-day delivery, this service could prove very valuable for European owners, should they run into trouble."

Gillies is also offering all European owners free access to the Cab Direct technical helpdesk, which is normally reserved for the company's own customers.

"The taxi business is our business," adds Gillies, "so we're more than happy to help out any drivers who might otherwise face difficulties arising from the demise of CMAK Ltd and the European Taxi."

I've heard that Patons have'nt bought CMAK, they are just in partnership with them. Still, would you buy a vehicle from a company that has just gone bust? :oops:

To be honest, I wouldn't even consider buying any of these 'alternative taxis'. Even if they cost a bit more, you're better sticking with the LTI vehicles - TX1 and TXII.

From my experience and the reports I hear, a 5/6 year old Fairway would give less trouble than a new Eurotaxi, Eurocab or European.

I HAVE HAD A TW 200 FOR PAST YEAR. AT PRESENT ONLY PROB SEEMS TO BE IF PARTS NEEDED FOR INTERIOR AS COMPANY WHO DID CONVERSION NOW STOPED TRADEING. HOWEVER CABDIRECT SEEM TOBE ABLE TO SUPPLY WHATS REQUIRED. AS FOR COMFORT AND MECHANICS I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS ( AS YET) HOWEVER AS U KNOW ITS EARLY DAYS [quote][/quote]

I had the old style tw200, it was ok until the engine seized up last may coming back from wembley, £6k for a new engine and 3 weeks off work. I wouldn't buy another one, in the end it was just costing too much espically spending over £200 a week in fuel, for a poor return. I found that the parts was expensive and main dealer where I live was hopeless.
