If its more than 3% above the bank base rate you can forget it

I suppose there is a market for these type of suppliers.

Compared with the high rentals charged by many of the large PH operators, the over the top % rate offered by the like of Mr Taxi Man isn't as extortionate as one first thinks.

The only concern is will the drivers be able to finance the repairs which often follow buying a second hand vehicle.

Using this free APR calculator a £500 loan at an APR of 4214% would cost you £21555.00 if it went unpaid for a year....thieving gits..its a recipe for disaster.

over short periods the APR always looks high, and to be fair, they are taking the risks and deserve the extra

There's nothing wrong with Wonga and the way they operate, the interest rate is over a short period of time look at what you repay over 4 weeks. They've got the best lender award for 2010 so they must be doing something right.

Most loan sharks charge less than this.

Do they stop charging interest if you fail to make the payments?

There is probably nothing wrong with any of these companys whilst you make the payments. The problems come about when, for whatever reason, payments are missed.
