A mate of mine has had some engine difficulties with a TW2000 Fiat conversion. The motor is just over two years old, but the normal van warranty from Fiat, 100,000 miles, only applies to an unconverted van. For a converted taxi the warranty is only 60,000. This has been confirmed by Fiat HQ. So should anyone google Fiat taxi conversion or TW2000, and comes across this post, my message to them is to not buy a Fiat taxi, unless you only do 10/20,000 miles a year. In short stay well clear.

But if the company who sold it stated a 100,000 mile warranty, and they refuse to repair it, you can take them to the small claims court or further under the sale of goods act |

It's well known round here for ages that the conversions aren't covered under warranty when it comes to breakdowns. Cab Direct have been false advertising for years saying 100,000 mile warranty when it's not worth the paper its written on. |

I've just sold my Fiat scudo scotcab and my warranty was 2 years unlimited mileage and 3rd year upto 100,000 miles but limited warranty on 3rd year! But Fiat would try and get out of a lot of warranty work.Good taxis but dont keep them longer than 2 and a half years! |
