Sorry solks, I'm back. After 18 months in and out of hospital, countless operations and lying at home staring at 4 walls, I'm finally thinking about getting back to work. Needless to say, I have to buy a car first.

Has anyone used one of the companies such as Cab Direct, Taxi Centre, etc. to source their vehicles? If so, What was your impression of them? Why did you go there rather than a garage or dealership? Any good/bad experiences to report?

I'd be grateful to hear opinions. Ta!!

Cab Direct (Glasgow) make Second Hand Car Dealers look like Saints but they do have good deals, now and again.

My experience of their 'in-house' repairs is that they are first class.

Thanks for the help fellas.

Having made a few enquiries, I'm buying a '60 plate, Insignia SE diesel auto. That should help protect my weak abdo muscles without a clutch to worry about.

Thanks again.

ffs dont get that vauxhall, 9 drivers bought them here in the borders, and all have gone back, due to engine and gearbox problems,
go for the octavia or superb dsg instead

This will be my third plated Vauxhall. Add to that my wife's seven and my daughter's three, we are pretty well up on the foibles of Vauxhalls. But, cheers anyway peeps. :-)
