Yes as a hack it ran for around 3 months before the turbo went bang it was bind after a year as the turbo went again, they are Vauxhall based, so no wonder |

ive never sat in one and i always look at a cars roofline (for access) and rear seat (for 3 adults) (car dealers think im a bit tapped) but it doesnt strike me as even a medium car, my Mk3 Mondeo is bigger inside than an Octavia and has better headroom than a Vectra, if i was choosing for personal use the rear cabin wouldnt matter (id have a MGB anyway)..... |

Family member has a saab 2.2 diesel 05 plate,he swears by it.Ive used it myself and found it a nice drive even with over 200,000 miles on it.Plenty of room in it and it feels solid enough,allthough i allways liked saabs.Pretty good on fuel aswell,the only thing is a lot of people say there a bit noisy on the engine side of things.Never noticed myself but there again i sit in a taxi all day !! |

I own a number of PHV's (none of which are a Saab) but I do have a Saab 9-3 as mentioned in the topic title as a private vehcile. Would I consider plating it and using it as a working vehicle? Never in a million years. The ride is too hard and the rear seats really can only really accommodate two passengers due to the 'sporty' design. The car also sits quite low and would be problematic for less able passengers to get in or out of it. Not sure if these points are because it's the 'vector' model or if all 9-3's are like this. From reliability terms, nothing apart from a clutch, flywheel, alternator and starter motor, all within a month of buying it and at only 40,000 miles! (covered by dealer warranty, though so not too bad) But no problems since then and It's now done 90,000. Nothing for a working vehicle though, but I've never seen one plated. Shaun |

Thanks shaun, i was sure they were a bit narrow and (maybe) too sleek to have big space inside |
