I paid £4250 for my (then) 69,000 mile 55 plate 130ps mondeo almost three years ago Ive almost done 100,000 miles in it, id guess i could get £1500 for it if i tried to sell it While Ive had it its had Worn out repairs DMF+clutch+CSC+aux belt+tensioner+starter (147,000 miles).......£895 a PAS pipe £200 water pump+belt £120 rear brakes (pads/discs/2 HB cables) £225 (included its MOT) Front discs and pads £56 2 wipers £11 each half a dozen bulbs also these which i put down to poor roads mainly 4 coils, 1 strut, 2 wishbones, 2 drop links, 2 strut tops total £340 inc vat+fitting Id reckon about £2000 in parts/fitting/VAT The old girl still pulls like a freight train, gives 49mpg and has never yet let me down in service. If I packed in id keep her cos she will last another 10 years at private mileages and the taxman has helped keep her fit |

If you are happy then it doesn't really matter what we think. That said I love Mondeos, and but wonder if £700 a year maintenance is good or bad.

I reckon its taken £60,000+ in 3 years, fuel £3000 a year, council fees £450/year, accident repair £350, subbie cover £400 BUT, on the plus side, no admin fees and no base rent |
