unbelievable, went to pay for my test today, (going in on wed) they reckon i might have to get the centre hump in the back seat shaved down as it hasn't been used & isn't the required 34" ( the 2 outer rear seats are ok but the slight hump in the middle knocks a inch off, i don't know, you try & put a tidy car on & the council try & block you, yet if i put a 52 plate well used knackered vectra on it would fly through , hack me off the council here mind, how can they justify a MOT that costs £40 and charge you £302? , yet its £205 10 miles down the road, are our taxis safer ? i hate the council me  just rip off merchants

the rear seat of the car ( taxi) must be at least 34" from the centre hump to the heahcloth or you have to take it to a trimmers & get some of the foam shaved off to meet the requirements , anyway it passed at 33" but i explained that the seah needed to settle as it hadnt been sat in , tbh the guy who measured it is dead against it , he had to fail a bentley that was getting tested ( for executive work only ) yet could pass a battered skoda , so he was on my side , everything is good ;-)

By the time you get a fat arse on it then it will be 36" from the headcloth...does their regulations say if its when occupied or empty.

no stipulation mate , you fill in a yellow form & submit it with payment, that's one of the conditions , 34" from seat to headcloth, i am assuming empty though, i just hope this isn't gonna be a unlucky motor, it passed its test today & when i got home i hadn't checked the MOT as i had to do the school run & hes done the mileage wrong, hes put 2000 miles extra on the car  i phoned up & told them, he got quite aggressive on the phone " you will have to bring it back NOW!" i said i couldn't , it would have to be tomorrow, he said " it better be then as we only have 1 day to change it ", i said hold on a second here, its your f****** mistake mate, then he calmed down , so i will take it back tomorrow
