I've had a ride in one of them Tesla Electric motors today, Jesus they're like shit off a shovel. £3 to charge it from empty to full overnight at your home and ½ an hour rapid charge at the free charging points popping up all over the country. They're a bit pricey @£50,000 plus for the entry level model rising to over £70,000 for a top of the range model. The inside is like something from a space ship, there's a massive screen in the middle where you control everything from the radio, internet, heating to the camera mounted on the front and rear. They're the motor of the future. |

lets add it up... £50K inc vat, you go vat regd so its £41,666 over 5 years youd buy £6000 worth of fuel a year = £30,000.....so thats £16,000 (plus the leccy) over 5 years youd have a IC car serviced 10 times? at £200 average = £1000 = £15,000 residue value after 5 years... dunno, say £10,000 so it will cost you £6000 in reality or £1200/year to scare the 5hit out of pedestrians who dont hear you coming and passengers when you clog it must get a test drive i think |

If the vehicle is £41,666 and you take off £30,000 of fuel that would be £11,666. 10 services at £200 would be £2,000 and not £1,000 Don't forget that the Tesla would also need servicing. |

Quote: I think you also need a maths lesson. If the vehicle is £41,666 and you take off £30,000 of fuel that would be £11,666. 10 services at £200 would be £2,000 and not £1,000 even cheaper then... £41,666 - £30,000 fuel = £11,666 minus services @ £2000 = £9,666 residue £10,000 = a profit |
