Had a letter from LA asking me what the think of an electric cab and its feasibility in Sheffield and where should charging Points be located. They also say there is no electric vehicle yet.they imply there is going to be one soon.Metrocab seems very quiet.Apparently there will 20 Million to share between 20 winning LAs.you could be Eligible for a grant but,I bet it won't be much.

Well, our LA went a tad crazy and placed several of these EV charging ornaments all over the region, yet after about 2 years i have yet to see one actually being used by any type of electric car.

Talk about putting the Cart before the horse, so far we don't even have the horse.

There ARE leccy cars, not many 100% leccy tho, Tesla is one at £45K but no fuel, services or cambelts every to buy

But leccy may not be the way to go

Nissan are pushing their leaf but the new MPV one will be out soon so there are non WAv vehicles available but the range is pretty pathetic. The thing is with charging points is that there has to be some infrastructure in place before people will by C5's and their slightly roomier modern equivalents. This is a bit of a dead end as the technology exists for clean cars (fuel cells) and the one that were invented about 30 years ago that ran on water that mysteriously disappeared but are now being manufactured in Japan as a new breakthrough

Its long been an urban myth that the oil companies buy up patents and discoveries that may threaten their petrol/diesel forecourt sales, and it seems odd that the likes of Ford, GM and VAG show us clowns cars that are electric but not proper cars the Tesla produce a viable leccy car, Tesla a fairly small company vs Ford?....WTF?
