These "canbus" systems are sensitive, be aware a Hid can upset the whole electrical system

When I had a canbus fitted it specifically said on the info that under no circumstances will it or can it effect the car's electric.

is it Hids that dont run on 12v?

besides which, you cant use high intensity retro-fit bulbs on main beam

You can get them for dipped and main from hids 4 u, the ballast box screws to the bottom of the headlight, and a small hole is made in the dust cover the wire is passed through, and sealed with sealant, on a mark2 Octavia the ballast box actually fits inside a gap in the headlight so no wires showing

Mine has passed 7 taxi tests with them in, as long as they work and are aligned correctly, they will pass, the best are 430K or 500K don't go over that and they will look OME

In the Department's view it is not legal to sell or use after market HID lighting kits for converting conventional Halogen headlamps to HID Xenon. If a customer wants to convert his vehicle to Xenon HID he must purchase completely new Xenon HID headlamps. The reason for this is that the existing lens and reflector are designed around a Halogen filament bulb, working to very precise tolerances. If one places a HID "burner" (bulb) in the headlamp, the beam pattern will not be correct, there will be glare in some places and not enough light in other places within the beam pattern. - Department for Transport (2006)
