You can also get the Prius as a 6 passenger car.

Yeah but where would Snow White and Grumpy go?

I don't know about Snow White but in our case it will be driven by Grumpy.

Took delivery of the new Prius today.

Wish you well with it, but I just don't think they are big enough.

The majority of our work apart from school runs have only 2 passengers. Many have only one passenger. We have larger vehicle for groups of 4 or more.

After our first weekend working, mainly at night. the car computer is just over 71 MPG. We will need to fill it up today or tomorrow.

The aircons electric so has very little effect on mpg, although on my Auris it seems to reduce the power when accelerating so you need to use the throttle more to get the same performance. But overall it doesn't affect the mpg as much as a normal car, I'd say maybe 3-5mpg.
It's great, in the summer you can park up with the car switched on, no engine running but the aircon still pumping out cold air. And in the winter still have heat coming out the vents without using fuel - all running off the battery 8)

And if you have a full service at at a Toyota dealer an aircon recharge is included ! :D

for a true mpg figure forget the computer, record the miles between brimming the tank

I get 650-675 miles 52-55 ltrs = 57mpg

hardly any town miles

fit LPG for the petrol engine, that would halve your fuel bill

How many LPG cars have you owned? When they do the conversion they do not replace the engine. They add a new LPG tank and a new set of control equipment. The car starts up on petrol and then switches over to gas. The last conversion I had was on a Peugeot 406 and cost £1400.

£1000 seems the average for a 4-cylinder

over the life of the car £200 a year?

£4/week?

mind you, youd have trouble finding space for the tank in your car

Why? It would fit in the same place as the one that we had in the pug and also the one we had in our LPG Rover 45 and Vauxhall Vectra.
I take it that you have never had an LPG car.
