not with mine, its a triplex steel timing chain, there is problem with one of the VW 2 years old, WA cabs tho, his belt was replaced 40 thou miles ago, now a blown engine, manufaturers recommend change around 80 thou, no one one admitting liability, he's had to go to a solicitor to claim plus loss of earnings and school contracts

no problems with timing on the VW t5s, there are no chains or belts on these vehicles, its all gear driven in the engine so no costly replacements.

Thats the Ford engine for you.

Try a fully synthetic oil, its about £90 for an oil change though.

KPM Taxis (LTI Dealer) have introduced a modified chain system, contactable at Dunbridge Street, Bethnal Green, London.

The rumour is (a strong one at that) the TX3 with the new engine is being released in November, so anyone investing in a cab should wait until then, otherwise you will have one of their crappy TX2's offloaded on you.

if these doodles are anything to go by it should be a good looker, but nothing like the old icon.

lets hope they make it a bit quiter so it doesn't wake up the neighbourhood when you pull away at 3am like the current ones...

It looks like a Mini.

I have it on good authority, that apart from the engine, the only other noticable difference will be the front grille.

The engine is apparantley the same one as being fitted to the Mondeo, but may be the 3L version.

Oh, and no doubt the price will change for the worse. :?

Could be the 2.0 TDCi thats fitted to the Mondeo, Jaguar X-Type, Transit etc etc

As far as I know Ford don't do a 3 litre Diesel engine - even the Ford owned Jaguar S-Type "only" has a 2.7 (Twin Turbo though)

The 2.0 TDCi is a very powerfull engine, more powerfull than the 130bhp would suggest - some Mondeo guys who have had the car on the rolling road have had figures of up to 142bhp from the standard engine

As said though, very good engine - mine has 122,000 miles with no faults or complaints (Semi Synth every 10k - Fuel Filter every 30k - always run)

Meant to add on the end there...

Always run mine on Shell Diesel Extra with a shot of Millers every now and then.

Yeah , might as well wait to get a crappy TX3 offloaded on you.

Only got to about 4,000 miles, but they keep saying that no fault is showing so there's nothing wrong with it. The cab sounds like a firework display.
