Don't know if this applies, http://www.compucars.co.uk/investigate- ... rticle=511 Merc servicing expensive at Merc dealer, arn't they all, two types of servicing A and B service, A, service they just grease and lube a few moving parts , door hinges etc etc and general check round, B service they change the oil and filters, engine oil is synthetic, around 12 quid a litre, but you'll get a million miles out of a merc . guessing, A service around 300 quid plus, B service around 400 quid plus, computer set at around 15-16 thou miles for servicing or maybe even less, the computer gets to know your driving habits, speed etc etc. and therefore sorts out the service intervals. its all on a computer, so any vehicle faults they have to hook it up to find faults, Have heard that passenger seats in these Mercedes van type vehicle are uncomfortable for passengers on long journeys |

I had a 115 brand new in July o4. I done 261,000 miles in it. Fully serviced at merc. Service either £176 or £240. It had 3 sets of rear springs and two new door runners, and was still on the same clutch. I went to px it at merc they offered me 4k sold it on ebay the next month for 8k to another taxi driver! It drove better with 100,000 miles on it than it did with 1000 miles on it. They rust like spoons but all mercs do. Also, if all the servicing is done by merc they will make a contribution to any repairs outside of the waranty. I would have another tommorow. |

I am loving my LWB M8 from Cab Direct.Took a fellow cab driver to Heathrow last week and he kept saying how chuffed he was with the ride..like a saloon car.I have done 30000 miles now with no problems and no fires this time! The Merc dealership have told me the second service (36000) will be around £400 as the gearbox oil has to be done as well. |

Had the service yesterday at 37000.The cost was just the £409.89. I told them I didn't require any of their Liquid Gold....or screenwash as they call it.Charged me over a fiver last time.Once bitten.... On the plus side,I am still on the original tyres (Continental) and was told the pads (also original) will last through until the next service. Steve Saving up for the next one! |

If a vehicle is new, or almost, and has FSH, you dont need to go to a main stealer-dealer, my greasy hand gang are a proper outfit, use good parts and stamp my book, citroen hated it but they only got warranty jobs to do, and couldnt refuse |

Got a 54 reg, had back springs replaced. Done 170k (airport & contract not local taxi jobs). Pads seem to last about 70k, not yet had a clutch. Can easily fit 8pax luggage in the back (it's the extra long). Will be for sale soon if anyone interested. Would have another without hesitation. |

Just bought Mercedes Vito Taxi (long body) 2 weeks ago, am very impressed, whole vehicle has a robust feel to it unlike some of the other offerings around. 100,000miles servicing included. First night out both taxi lights packed up, Mercedes came out and fixed it within 90mins......I wish I could say the same about the E7 I also own ........sadly I cant!! |
