Just had 72000 mile service done on my e7 they found metal filings in the fuel filter. This is caused by the fuel pump degrading. This repair will cost upwards of £3000 and surprise, surprise. the extended warranty from CAB DIRECT does not cover the fuel system anyone had similar problems or heard of any.

Yes. A couple of Expert variant cabs here got there fuel system replaced under warranty. Fuel tank to injectors. One out of warranty, had a partial replacement costing £2K.

Not contacted Cab Direct yet, it makes you mad to think Cab D advertises five year "peace of mind" warranty but it's full of holes,it suggests to me that they know the problems with the fuel pumps, I wonder how much you pay for the warranty.

If I had any problems with one of their motors then they would be sick and tired of me contacting them.

And if their replies were a bit iffy, then the good folks on TDO would be made fully aware of any problems.

how old is your cab ? 72000 is not a lot of miles in a cab with a five year gauranteed warranty, in dundee there is a story going around that a cabbie with a two year old cab actually got a job done under the five year warranty , but the edivence has yet to appear

trading standard could help if con direct state a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty then that's what your entitled to get. its clearly states that in there advert
Even the small claims court would help
Its about time con direct where brought down a peg or 2

I was interested to read some of your comments on cab direct, you are all wrong they dont have a warranty, its a company called AMG Warranty nothing to do with cab direct. The warranty from them is good if you get your vehicle serviced at the proper times. I know a cabbie who was way over the service by 2500 miles no wonder they wouldnt pay.

This fuel thing happend to my old 406 peugeot just cover their arses saying it all needs replace. All he done was remove the tank and all the fuel pipes clean them out, fit a new pump, and fuel filter with filer head build it up and hey presto you have just saved yourself nearly 3k/ hope this works matey/

That maybe so, but a court will say you bought your motor off Cab Direct, so if you have any problems then Cab Direct are the ones who need to sort it.

They can sell on their warranties to who they like, but your contract is with Cab Direct and them alone.

When you buy an E7 from cab direct Peugeot give you a two year warranty which covers everthing AMG then take over and suddenly your fuel system is not included this suggests to me they know there is a problem with the pump degrading.

I suspect you could take any brand or model of Car, Bus or Lorry in the world and there will be some form of inherant problem with it.

Theres no such thing as the perfect Taxi, LTI did get close with the 1999 - 2001 TX's, but ruined their reputation when the Ford engine went in during late 2001 onwards.

The new TX4 seems to be doing OK, Turbo pipes, and an undersized radiator seems to be the two main problems I'm hearing about. They'll be long sorted when I get around to buying my TX9.

Once the manufacturer's warranty runs out it's quite usual for another warrranty to be less comprehensive than the initial one.
