Post subject:  E7 Drivers you have my deepest sympathy .....
Having the need for a 6 seater this afternoon I borrowed an E7 from my office and only someone like me (female and blonde) could have encountered the problems that I did............ or is this the norm :? :shock: :?


Firstly I tried to put in a "Voice" request and after several failed attempts I finally rang up - only to find that I couldn't get "voice" as I hadn't actually switched the radio on - doh :oops: :oops: :oops:

That problem sorted - I ventured out again only to have the rear door sorta come off its runners and sorta just hang there looking as stupid as I felt. One mechanic later the door was fully functional again BUT the rear interior light refused to go out! Two hours and one removed bulb later this problem was resolved :mrgreen: Only for the door to part company with the runner again :sad:

When I eventually got back to the base for a much earned cuppa my back ached and I had lost all feeling in my left foot due to the heavy clutch! How do you guys do it?

Reality smacked me about the face and I suddenly realised just why I went back to a standard salon car! Long live saloons! :mrgreen: 8) :mrgreen: 8) :mrgreen:

You're really doing Peugeot and Cab Direct a dis-service here. You have had one negative experience here, which firstly was down to you not having any experience of the cab and secondly - in the case of the door fault - down to a problem with the individual vehicle.

she's right about the doors, big problem won't shut properly and they come off

The door is a problem and as I see it, it will be an ongoing headache with the door handle inclusive. It sounds as if someone has already had the door off at sometime - at the top of the rail is a location gap it would seem that the holder has not been bent back into shape.

The clutch on mine seems quite normal and it has never crossed my mind that it is to heavy. The engine is very good, But! the doors are a problem, with not enough thought going into them.

Just seen one of them Peugeot 1007s the 2 door type that slide, the woman who had it, just pressed the key fob and the door opened and slid back its self, then it closed its self, now if this type of electric door was fitted to the E7 they would have a winner full stop.
I asked her what happens if for some reason the doors do not open and she said you just slide them back as normal, I did notice that the door handles where different to whats fitted to the E7 nice and chunky

Sounds like one of those things that would go wrong fairly quickly, esp on a taxi with high usage.

One of the drivers round here has a vw caravelle with the same electric door set up and he is paranoid already because the punters are automatically yanking at the doors :shock: .Only my opinion,but i can see very expensive things going wrong with them in this job.Some of the pi$$heads we pick up cannot work out if a door opens outwards or slides so imagine their confusion with an electric one :? :? :? :? :?

Couldn't say much about the Doblo as I have not had any experience of one, but I've seen them in Dundee and they look crap.

That's one car I would NEVER have.

they are going down a storm in dundee,06/07 plates, but they still have problems , the sliding doors have triggers to open and a red button to lock ,this confuses 90 per cent of the public, also the floor height is a problem with pensioners, apart from that they are a very attractive vehicle with their new front and interior modifications, at £12500 they are very attractive when standing next to a tx owner at 4.00 am sunday morning with the exact money on the meter as you have, 90 per cent of the first e7/eurobus owners have jumped over, the six/seven seater fleet in dundee is now mainly new operators
