What are white hackney cabs like for resale value maintenance etc(i,e scratches dirt), thinking of maybe adding weddings alongside my day to day cabbing. |

White takes a lot of work to keep clean. It tends to show every speck of dirt, especially at this time of year. Silver hides it better. The Wedding game can be lucrative if you have a steady source of work. Bear in mind that there is a lot of competition from other cabbies and especially limo companies for this kind of work. |

Hi, they get dirty like all other colours.. especially black... But, they squeeze through carwashes without a problem. Resale- has very little diffrence. Maintenance- in this modern world, proffesional paint matching removes the problem. Weddings- had a similar idea.. had my vehicle for 3 years and both the weddings I've done went well but didn't change my world! TX's work well in any colour. But, punters still struggle to identify any other make if it's not black... All in all, choose the colour you like best. |

If you want to do weddings, why not buy a car that is more suitable to the job. I have been doing weddings for 8 years now and I have seen all sorts of cars and carriages but as yet I have not seen a white hackney carriage on any. One of the most popular with brides and drivers alike is the Beauford Tourer 4 door. It is a kit car made to look like a 1930s open top tourer. They have modern running gear, usually based on a Cortina or Mondeo and always turn heads. |
