However there was a shortage of 'purpose builts' back in the spring which resulted in me fitting two Hudson L.T's to the rear wheels. They came in at £32 each, fitted and nearly 25'000 miles later they look no different, and no punctures to date. Needless to say there are two going on the front tomorrow. Recomended. Another 8 months later . . . . still looking good. ![]() |

I always use remolds. Why? because on my Metro and I expect the TXs the fronts always wear on one side of the tyre. Because of the U turns. So it pays to keep changing them around on the cab. I had a blowout on the M4 when I first got this Metro. It was on the rear and the tyre was not a remold. Last week I was feeling this bumping I put it down to a tyre. On inspection I found a 'Bubble' on the rear nearside. I went and got another remold to replace it. Inside of the tyre was an air bubble about a foot long. WOW, That was close. Remolds or not you can still get problems. |

Regarding - Hudson remoulds. I had 4 Hudson remoulds fitted for £140 all in. I got home & measured tyre tread depth, there was 13.5mm of tread depth. I have covered just 2,000 miles & the tread depth is down to 8mm. It look like I am in for about 6k mileage with this set of Hudson remoulds. I got 12.5k out of a set of Austone tyres. My last set of Michelin tyres cost £220 & last for 27k miles. I know what I will be doing in the future. |

You don't get rich by spending money. I've made myself a lifetime promise not to. ![]() |
