Post subject:  Front discs & pads, TX2.

Hi all,

Is it true that when changing the front discs on a tx2 the pads also need to be replaced to make them more effective :?:

My pads had done about 8k and personally i thought they seemed ok but garage advised me of the above :?

Cheers.

I just changed mine last week and the discs were fine.

The pads were about 80% worn after 15'000, the discs should'nt have to be changed that often.

If you change discs you should change the pads as well. The old pads will have "bedded in" to the shape of the worn discs so if you just put new discs on the pads will only touch a part of the disc for quite a while until they have worn back to the shape of the new discs.
