You may sense what you like Mr Bog, but you're barking (mad) up the wrong tree. I drive a Taxi for a living.

I notice you have avoided the question I asked you in relation to you're imminent departure from the forum? Instead you choose to do the mellow dramatic act that many fibbers have to fall back on. :^o

As for the full working week, I leave that to the likes of yourself. :D

Get real !!
And for the record...Formal complaint lodged with night-shift Inspector at 1.00 GMT...

That's great Mr TX op, that'll show them who's boss.

I'll bet the two constables will hardly sleep over the next few weeks knowing that a Taxi driver has complained they conducted a breath test after smelling alcohol on you.

Keep those hours up. :D

I think if I was in the position of Mr tx_op I would have taken the breath test, and once passed it told the police officer that I would be writting a letter of compliant to the Chief Constable.

Might not get anywhere other than get you stopped a lot more times in future, but no-one should just sit back and take it up the a***.

I did expect some more sense from you Sussex.

It's a BREATH TEST, that's what the Police are enpowered to do.
It takes about 1 minute to conduct.

They only need to suspect alcohol has been consumed and the power is there.
Given his 7 day, 22 hours a day week, the Dundee driver probably looked [edited by admin] through lack of sleep and the fumes from his passenger would be enough to convince your average PCSO to conduct the roadside test.

Taxi drivers drink, some do it whilst they're working, some have a skinfull the night before and go to work. The fact that someones driving a Taxi does'nt exempt them from the Drink Drive Law.

Just wait until random testing comes in, listen to them whine then. :D

What grounds did they have other than it was a cab driver? :?

As he said in his original post, his passenger was incapacitated through drink, some of that smell would be on and around him. The Police aren’t trained in sniffing techniques.

A certain person’s Marxist views must be rubbing off on you.

If that was the case then every driver would be stopped dozens of times every night.

They did'nt stop him, he stopped them.

I can't ever remember having to stop the Police for a punter, but perhaps that's because losers don't get past my locked rear doors until I'm satisfied they are:

1- Sober enough
2- Have the means to pay
3- Know where they are going

Good for you, I congratulate you on owning a real Taxi.

What's that got to do with the situation we're discussing?
