yr avin a larf

course i can go out, driving my licensed vehicle....at my whim should i wish

the BUSINESS address may be the ops centre, but the vehicle can be anywhere (its got wheels see.....)

I said PH Operator's Licence!!!!!

I did NOT say PH Driver's Licence nor PH Vehicle Licence!!!!!!

A PH Driver is not an operator!!!

There are three types of licence with Private Hire.

A PH driver's licence, a PH vehicle licence & a PH operator's licence.

If a licensed PH driver happens to also be the licenced PH operator, i.e. the PH Operator's Licence is in his name, then there are different conditions of licence for each licence.

And no, you can't take a booking in your car.

but id have my own ops licence, as im the op..and driver...

so?..............................

So what?
If you had a gun licence, do you suppose you could use the gun in your car?

no-one has answered my question about preferring to have their daughter/wife left on a cold wet street at 2am rather than flagging down a PH vehicle, i have to assume that a hacks principles mean they WOULD, which in this day and age of knife crime and street crime and all that seems a testament to their principles. well done.

The relevance is simple. If you have a licence, stick to the rules attached to it.
A licence for one activity doesn't confer a right to break the rules attached to another licence. Both sets must be observed.

It is not for you or anyone else to say which rules are ok to break.

Wannabe is right. Why not be a hack if it's what you want?

if hes a criminal then he falls under the 1974 rehab act, be he taxi driver or hoodie..

If he was a hoodie then in time his convictions would become spent, that doesn't apply to the taxi/PH trade.

And as he has an 'interest' in these types of prosecutions, he cannot preside over them.

Why? :?

Would an accountant JP have to stand down on a fraud charge?

Would a shop-keeper JP have to stand down on a shop lifting charge?

Would a council employee JP have to stand down on a poll tax charge?

Would a burger eating JP have to stand down on a cafe hygiene charge?

IMO the only reason a JP should stand down is if they know any defendant, any witness or any member of each side's legal team.
